The Anteater Lemur

The Anteater was the third project I ever worked on in my Introduction to Sculpture class. The project specification was to do a creature blend of two main creatures with some kind of imaginary element involved. For my project I decided to blend together an anteater and a lemur, adding on a vicious mace-tail for defence. My personal goals for this project were to achieve detailed, realistic fur, and to convey a sense of personality in the gesture of the animal. Each piece of fur was rolled out individually and placed on the sculpture, making this a massive endeavour, but I am greatly pleased with the results.
